I wouldn't worry about it. TCU may or may not go. Houston is going nowhere. It would be a bad deal for TCU to leave. It would be disastrous for Houston, who has to be even more budget-conscious.

Actually, UNT would prefer scheduling UT, OU (on national TV this year & played them closer than UT), Tennessee, TAMU, Virginia (@ Fouts)and others similar all scheduled for future OOC games for the Mean Green.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but I don't see that the other schools you have UNT bunched up with in your post have ever played our aformentioned future foes which begs this question, when was the last time yall played UT and TAMU and when do yall have a future schedule with either?

Honestly, I think not playing TCU is a bad idea. We need the close rivalry as much as they do. I dislike the school and everything associated with it, but we should not give up 85 years of competition because we don't get everything our way. If we drop them, that leaves Rice as our best historical rivalry. Yuck! And UNT, SFA, SHSU, TSU, etc. will still schedule them even if we won't. TCU wouldn't hesitate to put a I-AA powderpuff on their schedule in a pinch. We need to play TCU, and not just in football.

I'm not sure I would have said what Phil did, but I did chuckle that he actually said something that was a bit controversial. It seems like we could use some attitude. We have been so quiet and reluctant to pipe up because of our recent performance and current record, it would be nice to have some swagger. It ain't me, but its fun to project to a time when we are justified in being cocky.

In the meantime, beat La Tech, Rice and, of course, the Frogs!

Once again, who cares if TCU goes to the Mountain West? They are an old rival that we should continue to play if possible. We should focus on making our program a stronger one and quit worrying about TCU. If SMU ever has an opportunity to switch to a better conference I hope that we will regardless of what TCU, Rice or Houston think about it. In the mean time we need to concentrate on winning some games.

well our own President has proudly admitted that SMU will go no where without Rice and Tulsa-incredible.

Stallion-
Is there any chance that we rode the coattails of those schools into C-USA? Maybe because of Tulsa Basketball or Rice Baseball? We act like we're not going anywhere without them, so they'll have the same stance?
The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.
