I'm sure this post pops up all the time, but I thought I'd throw it out there just to break the cycle of coach search threads.
My first SMU game was in the Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M. I want to say it was 94 or 93 (I was only 10 or 11 at the time). I want to say the Aggies were ranked 5th in the nation at the time. SMU took the ball right down the field and scored on their opening position to go up 7-0. Things didn't go so well after that. I want to say the final score was 38-10 A&M.
Nice talk sugar mouth. I would expect something like that from you. I've seen games at Texas, Michigan, Ohio State,Notre Dame, Florida State, Virginia Tech, UCLA (Pasadena), and the Rose Bowl. So yeah douchetits. I've never seen a real college football game.
1971 SMU vs. OU in Norman. When we left Dallas is was 80 degrees and sunshine. Arrived in Norman, it was 35 degrees and raining. One of the most miserable days I ever spent at a football game. Final score OU 30 SMU 0.
It kind of reminds me of our coaching search. Miserable.
Sorry, I just had to bring up the coaching search.
1915 Beat Hendrix 13-2 Hendrix was so humiliated they were never to be heard from again. Didn't make the out of town game against TCU since I was in my, I don't go to out of town games mode which I have recently started again.
1979 - vs. Baylor. Age 9. First full season at Texas Stadium. My Dad bought me popcorn and a coke and I loved the atmosphere. Mustangs were losers that day, 21-24, but I was a fan for life from that day forward.
The Cotton Bowl game, December 31, 1966. Got clobbered by Georgia 24-9. Was also my first bowl game. Sad to think that in the ensuing 41 years, SMU has only been to 5 other bowl games. And 4 of those were in a single 5 year run.
Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.

Final meeting of SWC teams Texas and SMU in the Cotton Bowl in 1995. My dad is a UT alum and I was actually being taken to the game in an attempt to drum up my interest in the University of Texas.
My first college game was SMU vs Vanderbilt in 1990. SMU won and I thought it was going to be a great year. Well, I was sadly mistaken and that bad year has turned into 17 more bad years...
Not sure when my first SMU game was probably early 1960s maybe late 50s. Family has gone to games every season since before my memory. I have no memory of the 1963 SMU/Navy Game though-and it seems like I might have remembered that. Know I went to every game from 1965 on and maybe 1964.
