Dear Frogs:

Listen, you have every right to leave the state and play football in the Mountains. SMU would be hypocritical if they leave the WAC and then bad mouth you for leaving CUSA.

However, just realize that if we were to continue to play you, it would HELP you TWICE:

1) Your recruiting efforts are increased by having an in state TRAVEL game every other year
2) It's a zero-cost travel game
(and for now, it's a cheap win, but that will change)

Since you are leaving, you are hurting OUR conference affiliation.

Now, I know right NOW we are hurting yours to some degree, but WE don't want to HELP you get better or maintain your stature while you HURT us, that doesn't make any sense.

On that note, I hope you win out and we see if you can bust the BCS.

Yo, GRGB - we aren't the ones who want to stop playing you. Our coach didn't get his panties in a bunch and threaten to take his ball and go home because we didn't play the way he wanted.

I seriously doubt that the decision on what is best for our program will be impacted in any way by another coach's temper tantrum. Lots of other schools maintain great rivalries without being in the same conference. Why cut off your nose to spite your face, as the old adage goes?

Yo Adopted Frog. SMU and TCU have not had a storied rivalrie since the 30's when they were both ranked and vieing for the national championship. For the last 30 years of the SWC, SMU whipped TCU every year. No rivalrie in that. Then since Francione came to TCU you have had the upper hand. No rivalrie in that either.

So it's no skin off of our nose if you take your toys and go play in another league. It would be the right decision for us to not play you and give you the opportunity for a game in the fertile recruiting field of the Dallas area, and give you the opportunity to reduce your travel costs.

Louisiana Tech would be a fine replacement for you. At least they schedule good OOC games like Alabama, Miami, Michigan State, etc. and do quite well against them.
