UCLA finally has USC a tad worried in its back yard recruiting race-the Neuheisal/Walker combo would appear to be the best bet for UCLA. If Walker is not in the mix its been reported that as many as 7-8 top recruits may bolt and it will be back to square one in trying to find athletes that can compete with USC.

I'll believe this when we can get though an entire year without the President, AD, or football coach mentioning the term "death penalty".

Which is exactly our problem. We need to wake up and realize that the NCAA is not going to kill us or anyone like that again. We have nothing to lose so we need to go back to "doing the things that need to be done to build a first-rate college football program" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). The way to get all that set in motion is to get it over with and hire Fran.

The one thing we are most terrified of happening to us again will never come to pass. If you want to win in D1 CFB you need to cheat. Even my mother who hates football asks "why SHOULDN'T college players get paid."

To be honest, I hate UCLA, but will be jealous if they hire Neuheisel. I wish SMU pursued him before the "big" schools jumped into the hiring process.
