George O'Leary

I'm thinking the new coach will be George O'Leary. A good coach but not a WOW. Don't know how good he will be recruiting in Texas but he is experienced in recruiting against the big boys.

I have had the same feeling for awhile. UCF plays tomorrow so if there is any fire in this theory, we should find out quickly.

Doesn't he have a $5 million buyout?

O'Leary is a great coach, but I can't see Orsini doing that to UCF. Orsini is well liked there and he did not help build that program just to take their coach when he needed his next coach on a new job....Not going to happen. He has JJ or an NFL coach in mind.

Maybe that's part of what Orsini had in mind when he raised that much cash? Some of the $10-12 mil is for the coach and his staff, and some for the buyout?
Just a guess.

Daddy already told him once not to take this job.

Was around O'Leary at the Liberty Bowl coaches luncheon a few days ago...what an [deleted]. Arrogant, above all this (the Liberty Bowl), better than you type vibe..heck, might fit in at SMU...comes off as a grumpy, pissy old man. Just my observation.

I met him when he was in Dallas at the end of the year for the UCF/SMU game. Has a gruff exterior, to be sure, but came across as an OK guy. If he can recruit and win, he can be as obnoxious as he wants.
