Maybe it's still June Jones

Extra money, better facilities and a "wow" hire.

Vacationing in Hawaii is great but he's lived there for quite a while and appears to be entertaining other options. Is he just fishing for more $$$ for himself? I don't think so.

Forget Neuheisal. He's tainted goods with the NCAA and that doesn't seem to be Orsini's or Turner's MO.
...............................Well, I think JJ has decided after a 12-0 season and a BCS Bowl game, he is worth alot more to a team than $800k/year. So I think he thinks he is worth at least double that. We'll see if Hawaii steps to the line and pays him at least double or not. If not, SMU would agree to pay him over 2 Million a year and JJ might just take it !

LakeHighlandsPony.....hint....look at the time of that post...and the day of the week.....thats alcohol talking.

Tristate.....according to my sources you are correct...June Jones is the number one guy Orsini is after and he will either be the guy named the day after his bowl game .....if the June Jones deal falls apart Fran will be named very shortly after that. I will be happy with either scenarios because both guys will be a huge upgrade for our program. We are less than a week away from having a new coach.

June Jones seems to be making sure everyone understands that he is not interested. Makes me wonder if something is up. Does anyone have any info on, UCLA wanting JJ as well? I would be happy with JJ or Fran.

Nick Saban really proved coaches are worse liars than congressman. Don't believe Jones has no interest.

Exactly. Think about it, until Michigan signed Rodriguez to coach, there were plenty of folks thinking that Les Miles might still go there despite signing a new contract at LSU and repeated denials of interest.

While I'm supposing money will always be of interest to a coach, it looks lik June Jones marches to a little different beat. I like the idea that he worked with the tools given him rather than '[deleted]' about what he didn't have. Most of us round bellies would love to stay in Hawaii for four years. But, all the young NFL star wannabee's need to be closer to the action or closer to home to pursure their pro careers. JJ has overcome that by using kids who want to play good, exciting COLLEGE football. What a concept! That said, I can't imagine he'd want to come to SMU.

SMU's biggest negative is Dallas/University Park. And, that is something it can never do anything about. I'm not sure even JJ can sell kids on playing in front of hundreds every Saturday.

I posted "my thoughts" after someone in the UH administration mentioned that he thought it would be June Jones because it's been a while. If Hawaii was going to entice him to stay, they would have done so by now. Instead, they reportedly have Division II type facilities.

JJ would make a whale of a splash. Regardless, I hope the Warriors beat OU. We need

Oh, and yes, SO hired O'Leary. However, some of y'all have commented that Dr Turner may have handcuffed him a bit on this search...to go after clean image guys.

I wouldn't plan on it. Specifically because Hawaii plays Georgia.

Da**, and I knew that.

I don't care much for WVU or OU, but I dislike the Big 12 in general. Regarding the Sugar Bowl, I like Matt Stafford since he's a local kid but it's always non-BCS first.

[Edit: I needed to post a lot of names and teams to make me look like I know something.]

Of course it is June Jones. I said this 3-4 weeks ago, but since it was my first post I was laughed off.

Now that I have alot of post maybe it will be different.
