37 days to Signing Day and no coach

Postby PonySoprano » Mon Dec 31, 2007 12:30 pm

Anybody else getting worried?? Or have we already resigned ourselves to the fact that our recruiting class will be terrible and we will have a one or two win season 4 years from now because of it?

Just don't worry about that. It's in the bag. No problems. No worries.

General, how can you be so rude as to make fun of our coaching search? Don't you know that Orsini is a genius and makes like $300K a year and has a good resume? He has a plan to bring in Paul Johnson, err I mean Rick Neuhiesel, err I mean June Jones any moment now. Wouldn't you want June Jones over Terry Bowden or Gary Barnett??? You, sir, are a sorry excuse for an SMU fan. Now put back on your rosy red spectacles.

And we can't make fun of Mike Vaught, either. He is beyond reproach.

Exactly! These guys work for us! I'm sure any assistance he might have given to Paul Johnson was after-hours or on a weekend.
Anybody else getting worried?? Or have we already resigned ourselves to the fact that our recruiting class will be terrible and we will have a one or two win season 4 years from now because of it?
...................Our recruiting classes have been "terrible" since Coach Bennett's 2003 class when we got 10 Rivals 3 Star recruits and were ranked # 59 in the nation.....Our 2004 class had only one 3 Star player and was Ranked over #100 and our 2005 class was ranked # 107 by Rivals and in 2006 we were ranked #99....We have to get a Coach that can Recruit here first. If we do, we may still recruit Better than the last few years anyway this year. We have got to get a coach guys will want to come here and play for......I just don't think some of you realize just how bad our recruiting classes have been lately....We were 1-11 this year, so #99 in the nation in recruiting like last year is not going to cut it.

"Don't you know that Orsini is a genius and makes like $300K a year and has a good resume?

Show me one post where anyone says Orsini is a "genius"?
Or are you just blowing smoke again?

Does Orsini have a good resume or does he not?

Did Orsini hire O'Leary at UCF and O'Leary just won CUSA?
How many conference champion coaches have you hired?

Did Orsini get a brand new football stadium built at UCF?
How many Div 1 football stadiums have you got built?

Steve Orsini raised $270 million while at UCF.
How many hundreds of millions have you raised for an athletic program?

Steve Orsini was seated next to Carl Sewell at the Hoops
game yesterday. Obviously Mr. Sewell is working with Orsini
on this hire and with funds for the new coach......do you really
think if Orsini was some moron/ idiot that was "lost"
Carl Sewell would be working so closely with him?
Do think Carl Sewell got to where he has by not being
a pretty good judge of character and ability?

What are your comprable athletic admin accomplishments?
What are Stallions?
What are biggin's?
What are bigdaddy's?

Does Orsini have a sports resume that is one hell of alot
better than yours or any of the other doom & gloomers that
constantly imply he is an idiot or has made mistakes in this
coaching search?

If it's really as bad as you say it is...what the hell are you doing here?

If there is no hope.....honestly what are you doing here?

Why spend your time on something you apparently think
is headed in the wrong direction and headed by person
it seems you have very little faith in?

You're right. And since I've never been President of the US I cannot criticize one.

It is all so clear now.

I hope you were being as cynical as I was. I'm past the point of getting upset about this because our athletic director has done a great job making himself look like a damn fool.

I wouldn't want to be President - not enough power.
