Thanks for the info on our mystery recruit.
Haven't seen much on him.

Glad to see Doh recruiting players for an up-tempo style.
Just can't do it with the ball handlers we have right now.

This is exciting news. Can't have enough athletic, able to handle the ball 6'8" kids.

This quote:

"Clarke describes SMU's game as "run and gun, pretty much, like Phoenix Suns-type basketball. Because that's what Coach Doherty likes"

makes me wonder if Clarke has actually ever seen one of our games. SMU averages just 62 points per game against D1 teams, and has been held under 60 points in 5 of our 10 games. Our offense looks like the modern equivalent of a 4-corner stall, especially if we have the lead.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.

I really believe we will see a more uptempo style next year.
I believe that is the style Doh wants to play & is obviously selling to recruits.

Gotta have good guard play to play run & gun.

what good guards do we have coming?? At this point, I would take a poor mans Stephen Woods. Even though he didnt have blow by speed that you like in your point guard, the kid had moxy and was leader from the first day of his freshman year.

Everything I read about Dubois looks great.
Hopefully Haynes & Otis can handle the ball.
Add in the continued development of the freshman & I can see them runnin & gunnin more.

That article says SMU's style is 'run and gun,' like the Phoenix Suns.

Really? I've never seen the Suns work all the way through the shot clock and not get one good look for a shot. Or go 7, 8 minutes without a field goal. Or have a half with only 6 or 7 field goals.

Obviously you can't compare the style of the Suns to ours.
Damn, we can barely get the ball in bounds & when we do we can barely get it over midcourt in 10 seconds.

I think Clarke has to be referring to the style they want to play in the future.

I'm looking forward to the day we can play an uptempo style.
