He was a big loss. Wonder if he would have made a difference.

My fault. Bob Stanley. I left the "n" out. Post has been edited. Stanley was OL coach last year.

He didn't want to be at SMU. Knowing that his last 4 years in coaching include high school, GA at KSU, SMU and back to Kansas State, I'd say he is a "mover". I think Phil will go with the successful "Stoops approach".... get some young, fiery 20s and 30 year old coaches to get this young group of Bennett recruits fired up.

I think that would be huge. A young, very good offensive coordinator. The problem is, I don't think any of them would want to come here...Maybe Bennett could find a gem that no one else knows about...

Wasn't Bob Stanley also the name of that coke-head who blew the whistle on SMU in 1987? The memory ain't as good as it used to be.

I don't think Bob Stanley would have made any difference at all, with all due respect to him. We've got young guys playing way before they ought to be, god bless em. PB simply cannot land enough big, HOMELY MALICIOUS RUBES this year for my taste. I know we need every position, but OL/DL has got to be our #1 priority. Didn't Ron Meyer say something like, "you know you're a championship team when every year your entire OL is made up of seniors?"

Sounds like Coach Meyer had a pretty solid recipe. When we've had success at SMU - even moderate success - the offensive line has been a veteran group.
