I have heard from a reliable source that the negotiations are extremely intense over 2 issues
1. The SMU Twirler will from now on wear a grass skirt.
2. The new fight song will now be "Tiny Bubbles".

Haha! Speaking of the twiriller, is it just me or how many years of eligibility does that girl get??? I finsihed undergrad in 2005 and I know she came to SMU within one year of me and she is STILL twirling!! She must be working on a PhD.

She is a nice girl, but Im pretty sure there is no danger of her working on a PhD.

One thing is for sure...if Jones is the coach, I'll wear a Hawaiian shirt and sandals to the 1st game, and I think we should give Coach Jones at least one "hang loose" sign to go with the mustang pony ears.
After this coaching search, not to mention the last 18 years, we need a little 'hanging loose'.

She came in 2003 I believe, so she took a 5th year. Not that uncommon.

would someone please tell me why all the talk about Hawaiian traditions at SMU? If we hire fran, are you all planning on attending yell practice on Friday nights, 'humping' it at games, wearing Corps uniforms and building a bonfire?
gimme a break. the guy embraced the traditions of the locals where he was. it's not like no one was wearing hawaiian shirts before he got there. He didn't invent the lei.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

If Fran indeed is our future...I'll go to Michael's and make a shirt with iron ons that reads "PROUD TO BE THE NEXT STEPPINGSTONE"
Speaking of the twirler, we had a different one at the TCU game and one of the other home games, and all she showed me was how amazing our status quo is...

Did we redshirt her?
Note: I was a Freshman in 2003 and I am fairly certain she was at Corral.

No, but I'm sure many people will yell "Howdy" to Coach Fran

I hope not. I like fran, and think he would do well here (as with Junes et al), but we have our own traditions, and i would hope that they are embraced.
