Assuming he accepts the offer
I assume he is planning on taking the offer and if he does it will be tomorrow. If that is the case, wouldn't they have a Press Conference immediately?

They may have to switch to Sunday. It will be old news by Mon. I guess it would be a smaller crowd however (Sun.). Then again they may try to stretch it out to Mon.

This is my first post to any college message board. A quick background on me and I'll get to my opinion. I am a 1995 graduate of SMU and had a family member play FB in the early 80s. I have spent 10 years working in Media Relations at NCAA Division I schools (including TCU, where I got my graduate degree ... much easier there than on the Hilltop) and I just left the world of NCAA sports in the past couple of months, so I feel I can now post without consequence or repercussion.
No matter when the press conference is, it's never really done. Most recently remember the mind-changing of Dana Altman at Creighton, Billy Donovan and Florida, etc. The PC is just the announcement and satisfaction that the contract is signed. I would expect the PC to be Monday, no matter what, to capitalize on six days of solid news coverage and to be talked about during Monday's BCS national title game. It will not be old news on Monday. Even if it gets out today (which it will, trust me, it will), that's one more day of SMU being in the news. In fact, SMU had a headline in my local paper, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (and it was SMU, not Southern Methodist) and SMU's score is barely ever reported.
Just my two cents. I appreciate this board far more than other college boards I follow. You guys do your homework and most of you aren't to full of yourselves, at least that's my impression.

Thanks for the information. I'm really hoping we have this deal locked up. I still have that 4th quarter, up by 3 feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I was never sure if that feeling was because I always knew we were going to lose or because the fact that we were actually ahead had forced me to stay in the stadium and away from my beer for too long.

LOL! We rarely were without alcohol in the stadium (hooray for frat boys with flasks in their Redwings), so I'm pretty sure mine was the dread of losing.
