The only person I ever really saw that drove a Porsche...Craig James. A red 944, he used to park it out by the old Ownby Stadium when the adjacent parking lot was freshman parking.

I saw a couple porsches parked in moody garage when I was in school, and a (relative) ton of BMWs, and one bright yellow mercedes coupe. I drove a very used toyota corolla, and later a less-used mitsubishi.

What's really sucks is when you are a MAN(I'm over FORTY) and can't drive the big Bimmer. Put my car in the shop 3 weeks ago for a minor fender bender and have to drive around a Dodge something mid-size. Not a Babe-Magnet!!!

why can't you drive a big Bimmer?

I have a Honda Passport - 120k miles. I like to run them to the ground. Need a new car.

This guy sounds like a whiney little kid. He is right about a few things but he acts like Jones is leaving them high and dry. They should have resolved these issues a while back rather than now when it's too late. He's probably a huge celebrity there b/c that is the only thing they have there and the entire state is watching....what a change of scenery to Dallas where there are a million things going on.

If anyone on this board would like to pay off my student loans and house, I'll buy one of the diesel BMWs coming out for '08 and let you drive it from time to time.
I had a 1966 Dodge Coronet. Which woulda been cool, had it not been 1983 at the time. :)
The 66 Coronet is cool anytime! Wasnt that the first car that Chrysler put the 426 Hemi in? I've been thinking about buying a 66 or 67 for awhile now, I love the look and the historical significance.

Was it black and did you park it in the ownby parking lot. If so then I remember it. I thought it was cool. Of course, I was driving a 63 TBird.

It was an incredibly ignorant editorial by Paul Arnett of the Star Bulletin. Perhaps it is consistent with his bias toward the Herman Frazier administration though.

Arnett is rather presumptuous to believe he knows what's best for Jones and to say that SMU sucks and will continue to do so despite everything Jones can bring. He is ignorant to state that SMU sports barely has a pulse as a reason for Jones can't turn things around. When Hawaii hired Jones after the 1998 season, the football team had lost 18 straight and was thinking about dropping down a division. Jones ended up leading the biggest turnaround in NCAA history in 99 and won their bowl game against Oregon State.

Jones is all about challenges and overcoming the impossible. He makes some odd calls in clock management, challenges to officials calls and going for it on fourth downs but the truth is that he is an absolute genius at his offense and SMU will be very lucky if they get him.
