The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
Re: the calm before the stormI'd kill for some good news.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: the calm before the storm...well we could talk about conference championships, no...bowl bids, no...our bcs chances, no...that great W last weekend, no....better yet, let's sit here and bit$h about recruiting restrictions, how dumb people are who disagree with us, the "save Peruna" campaign, why tcu su$ks (HA!!..I WISH I had their problems), what else, best burger, coldest beer, be positive, folks, be positive...here's one, let's talk about GREATEST SMU W you ever saw..I'll start, '68 Bluebonnet Bowl....Long Live Ken Fleming!!
Re: the calm before the stormThat was the first SMU game I recall seeing (on TV from Michigan.)

Re: the calm before the stormToss up: SMU v. the Teasips in 1965 (Mustangs win, 30-14 for Homecoming!) or the Bluebonnet Bowl against the Sooners (I was there!)
Re: the calm before the stormAnd Mike Romo. And the undersized linemen who fought their hearts out that day. And Coach Gregg for having the faith in SMU to take on the monumental task of re-starting the program. That game is a game I'll never forget, and Coach Gregg will always be one of the greatest of all Mustangs. Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
Re: the calm before the stormgotta be the win against Dan marino's Pitt Panthers to seal an unbeaten season...only to finish #2 behind Penn State in the polls. I think we had something like 14 guys on that team who went on to play in the NFL.
Re: the calm before the stormThe 1983 Cotton Bowl has to be my all-time favorite too, Charleston. Half-frozen in a half-empty stadium. Temperature never got above 35 degrees, and the drizzle turned to sleet in the second half. My son (now 29 but 8 years old at the time) endured it all like a good trooper. Lance McIlhenny's fourth quarter touchdown insantly turned him into a lifelong Mustang. My father, who was at SMU during the Walker/Rote days, was also there, so it made for a memorable family occasion.
Re: the calm before the stormOne of the best games that I recall having witnessed wasn't a win but rather a tie. It was the 1994 game against A&M at the Alamodome that resulted in a 21-21 tie. I seem to recall that game was listed by SI as being the "upset of the year." After that game, it was so funny seeing and making fun of the poor aggies on the Riverwalk who couldn't handle taking a tie from SMU. To them, it was pretty much a loss.
