Okay, so my flight to Big D just got cancelled. %$#@*!!! We hope to be there by tonight.
Just looked at the Dallas weather and they're calling for rain? Is that what y'all are hearing down there? Somebody please tell me it's only going to rain in the morning, or something. I guess I should start preparing the wife now for a wet afternoon. That'll go over real well. Somebody give her some good weather news, if you can.
We'll be there, rain or shine, screaming our heads off.
Go Stangs!!! Scald Rice!!!

I've heard intermittant showers, but warmer. At least it won't be a cold nasty rain. You're a good fan to fly in to see an 0-10 team.

To be honest, I didn't expect us to be 0-10 at this point when I bought the tickets. LOL Thanks.

The people that show up tomorrow are the true core fans. There won't be many of them but they will be supportive and encouraging. I have had people tell me what a good group of fans we have. This season has tested everyone. It's very hard to lose week after week. It wears on you. Every Sunday I live Sunday Morning Coming Down. Every day I wake up with this blah feeling thinking about the Mustangs. I recently heard one of the Cowboys talking about how much more fun it is this year and how losing does something to you. 0-10 is a terrible thing to go through. We haven't had one day when we have had the joy of a win. Geting back to the crowd, I'm sure they will be like always. They will applaud. They will cheer. They will hope. After bad plays they will look blankly into space. Some will shake their heads. Someone once told me that you don't get what you deserve. You get what you get.

I agree-but we do have some pretty "casual" fans-you know the ones who talk about competing in a Southern Ivy League not really understanding the implications but in reality could care less-in fact those same people would be more likely to watch the Mustangs of the Eighties than find themselves sitting through the SMU/TCU game two weeks from now. Your not a "Fan" if you aren't prepared to sit through the Purple Invasion and still say that we are on the right track. Yet the Mustang Club Box will be 65% empty against TCU and 80% empty tommorrow.

You know Mr. Stallion...I normally just read this board for fun. I learn stuff..even from you sometimes. You seem to know your stuff on recruiting. But you are such a jerk when it comes to the pure fan who wants to say something, ANYTHING, nice about our athletics programs. Your supposed knowledge about what is going on is laughable. Your shots at the Mustang Club, who are simply good people who care about SMU and back it up with hard work and $$$, show a most unattractive petty side. By the way my "Mustang Club" section is section 135 row one seats 9-12. Come by and see me cause I'm sure as hell not going to carry on a debate with an arrogant jerk on a public forum. Oh yeah, if you want to put your money where your very large mouth is, bring a check.

MCLUBPREZ, I don't mean to be a smart-ass or a jerk...but there is no section 135.

Perhaps it's section 125...you know when your speed typing those big fingers sometimes just hit the wrong key and the 2 by golly is right next to the 3.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Hey mclubprez-No thanks I think I'll wait until SMU runs a Division 1A program. It must be tough being a president of an organization where even its members don't believe in what's going on-that will be plainly evident both in the Luxury Boxes and in the stands Saturday. What better evidence that even the faithful have lost hope in the program when only about 18-20% of those Big-Cigar donors even bother to sit in that nice big Luxury Box. Where did they all go? And Why? But you can bet I'll be there anyway.

How much to sit in those fancy seats? I usually pay $5.00 to $9.00 and sit ten rows back on the 50 yard line.

Just messing with you STUDent!!!!! Wanted to get a rise out of you. I'm sure the prez meant 125.
I am somewhat familiar with the Ford Stadium seating chart.

re: But you (Stallion) are such a jerk when it comes to the pure fan who wants to say something, ANYTHING, nice about our athletics programs
Yeah Stallion is like the guy that doesn't vote but complains all the time.
Stallion claims he will not take part in the Mustang Club until "things are all better".
We asked him once if he thought the Mustang Club should be disbanded.....of course he refused to answer a direct question.
Stallion likes to stay vague.....saying things like "we need to level the playing field" but when asked to explain exactly what that means or who it is exactly by name that is preventing this from happening....Stallion falls silent.
When asked to provide a specific blue-print on what we should do......Stallion says things like "we oughta raise some hell with the administration".....again he hides behind complaining and offering only vague solutions.
Stallion can choose not to be a member of the SMU Mustang Club but I think it is shameful for him to demean an organization that is trying to help SMU Athletics.
Hopefully when things get turned around (and they will) and Stallion tries to jump on the Mustang Club bandwagon we can tell him "No Thanks" keep your tightwad money or send it out to tumbleweed town. (Texas Tech)

you got to be kiddin'-I've said hundreds of times-minimum NCAA standards for initial freshmen eligibility(its a complicated sliding scale but those that know what they are talking about know EXACTLY what I'm saying), the football coach should have the option of signing 3-4 JC players each year to plug immediate needs, the basketball coach should have the option of signing 1-2 JC players each year to fill immediate needs, there ought to be a reasonable university transfer policy in accordance with NCAA minimum transfer requirements and there ought to be curriculm that allows those type of students to pursue fields of study that appeal to them. Real radical huh? Every university in Texas except Rice and SMU follow that exact policy and most admit at least partial qualifiers which I don't even think is necessary or required. Its called a Commitment to Division 1A Football-and any impartial observer of Texas college football would tell you its totally reasonably.
