I need a huge dose of come down to earth, the model hasn't been changed
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

If I remember correctly, wasn't stallion pro JJ assuming they made some model changes?

No. He said JJ recruited under a polynesian model that wouldn't work at SMU. He was basically against it and didn't think JJ would come here. It's obvious. He has been almost non existent except for posting bad news when it looked like JJ was going back to Hawaii.

Stallion said Jones would not come UNLESS the "Stallion Model" was adequately addressed.

He's just layin' low for a while. He'll be back with a vengeance...

No I'm just plowed under at work-I've rarely had time to post during the day lately. Missed the news conference-I'm going to go home and try to catch up before I comment.

He did. My guess is Jones didn't get everything but he got enough to compete for the kinds of kids TCU is going after.

Stallion originally was anti-Jones but then he changed a little and then kinda intimated that he'd be pro-Jones if we changed the model...

Stallion's comments about Jones were based on what Jones had said in the past. Like him or not, Stallion always bases his judgements and comments on verifiable information. I think the change in the model, and I do think there must have been some changes for Jones to come here, is every bit as important as the Jones hire, if not more so.
