Herbstreit on ESPN placed the Big 10 between C-USA AND MAC
AND HE WAS DEAD SERIOUS. I just saw it on ESPN College Gameday. Everyone on the show was shocked.....you could hear a pin drop... .He basically said in terms of strengh as a conferance C-USA is stronger. Maybe, C-USA needs to stop playing a conferance championship like the big ten so we can get more invites to the National Championship Game. Kirb Herbstreit is now my favorite guy on TV!

Wow. Talk about selective hearing. He was talking about some fans, probably on forums, were saying that. He SPECIFICALLY said that he didn't agree.

He said it and inferred it............then it became apparent to him that he went too far and back tracked with that BS about him not agreeing with that assessment........ YOU JUST DON’T MAKE A BLANKET COMMENT ABOUT WHAT THE NATION THINKS WITHOUT YOU TOO BELIEVING IT TOO………..It was clear to all who watched that he was serious.

I couldn't agree more!
Actually, not really, but top to bottom the Big 10 is the worst BCS conference by far. The top couple of teams beat out the Big East, but the Big East is at least more competitive within themselves. And both conferences schedule Sun Belt teams and 1-AA teams for their non-conference games in order to hide their ineptness.

The Big Ten has some really putrid programs like Minnesota. Indiana and Illinois turned it around to some degree this year and were bowl eligible principally by playing MAC and 1-AA teams OOC. But they were both hammered in bowl games. This stuff is cyclical. Nebraska got slaughtered as well, this year. Never thought I would ever see that happen. The SEC is the strongest conference because the SEC belt also known as the SunBelt, really has great HS football. That helps the SunBelt and CUSA who share that footprint. The rust belt areas like Michigan and Ohio are losing blue collar jobs and losing residents who are being replaced with farmers and more urban professional types and asian and hispanic immigrants -not the burley kids whose dads worked at the factories. The farm belt still has very good HS football except for some reason in Minnesota. The Pacific Coast has good HS football as well. California especially.
