I, for one, do not think this type of offense can be successful against good defenses (read: Georgia)

How do you define "good defenses"?.....Top 10?
We don't need to be worrying about whether we can beat the Georgia's, Ohio State's, USC, and Michigan's at this juncture.
We are trying to "buy a nice house, not a mansion".
We can be very successful in CUSA with the Junes Jones offense. We can have an exciting team that scores alot of points and wins some games.
Could we compete with your Longhorns? No....but thats not the goal for now.
We don't & won't be playing Georgia or dominant upper level Top 10 teams more than once a year at most.
Once we are winning CUSA, going to Bowls, ect.... worrying about how our offense matches up against Top 10 teams will be a good problem to have..... I wish we had that problem right now!

I tend to agree. However, I think the goals for this program should be as follows:
1. Winning season
2. Bowl game
3. Top 25 finish
4. Win CUSA
5. Win CUSA consistently
6. Go undefeated
7. Vie for a BCS game, possibly a MNC
I think 1-3 can be easily achieved if JJ follows the same path he employed at Hawaii (with the exception of crashing into concrete abutments -I kid because I love). However, I think 4-7 will take some finesse. It is my opinion that the only weakness with Jones' strategy is his use - or lack thereof - of a traditional running game.
But this is just my perception. I could be, and probably am, completely wrong. I hope I am.

Put it this way... you give HawaiiGeorgia's O-line, Hawaii wins that game. If the QB has time in this offense... 2-3 seconds... they will march up and down the field. Brennan had 1 second and less the majority of the time in that game.

Heaven forbid we don't just lay back and sing rah-rah-rah rather than actually analyzing the situation and making judgments about perceived levels of success.
For the record, I think this is a phenomenal hire and I really don't think SMU could have done better (thank gawd it wasn't Fran-cakes).

Being in CUSA, we will probably have to do 4-5 before we get 3.
