Runningstang ask....."How do you join the Mustang Club? I went to the SMUMustangs.com site and clicked on the Get Involved - Mustang Club and then clicked on Join today and made my donation. Do I need to do anything else?
Show Stallion!
Hopefully there will be one or two more people to join us on our row this next year. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
I can't wait for the new season. I convinced a few people in my office that they should get season tickets and, thanks solely to the hype around JJ, they are ponying up!
I've been invited a couple of times up to the Stadium Club. Rowdiness depends on the game. Last year people hovered around the tvs to watch other games- understable with the crazy upsets, but when the game is close, it can get pretty crazy. The mix of people is all over the place. You will see 25- 35yr old alumni who are teetering on drunk and loud in a good way, to fed up long time fans screaming for Bennetts firing, but rarely have I seen "bluehairs". Definitely worth a peek. Only time of year you get to sample a "mustang rita"- made with wine.
"Mustang Rita?" With wine? That sounds so horrible, I'm going to have to try it sometime. I am just curious, if it is a cash bar in the Stadium Club, what are the prices, say, for a beer. ("If you have to ask, you can't afford it," I know, I know...) Are they Dallas prices, or are they inflated SMU rich alumni prices, aka NYC prices.
Indeed. That's a lot more reasonable than I thought. They could probably charge more...(shhhhh!).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My wife and I are considering getting a couple of tickets in the Stadium Club. What should we expect? I was at the first game at Ford Stadium when I was a student, but unfortunately I didn't attend any games after that. I was a huge football fan but the idea of watching us get our brains beat in was not appealing at the time. I for one can say that our buying tickets is a direct result of this hire. Don't listen to those people talking down the stadium club. I love how the biggest naysayers don't have tickets there. If the game is good, it is plenty rowdy. I graduated in 89 undergrad and 91 grad school and I have seen plenty of young alums including a number of guys off of my freshman floor. And if I can't make a game, I have no trouble getting takers for my tickets (and not from any one with "blue hair"). There are some older alums and supporters in the club but they behave themselves for the most part. The AC is nice, the bar is VERY NICE and seats are plenty comfy.
First of all, MM'65, that's not true. I have seats both in the club and out on the 45 - you know that my hair is far from blue. there's a good mix of young alums in the Club, as well as families, and fans of all ages. i've had some pretty fun times in there (the beer helps). SMUMan02 - you need to call the ticket office, AND the mustang club and inform them of your desire immediately. i waited on a list for a few years before getting the call last year, and i know i wasn't the last name on the list. put your name down now, and buy tickets in the stands. if you're willing to shell out $2200 for 2 seats in the mustang club, what's another $300 for seats in the stands? Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
You probably have and don't realize it. According to the greatness that is Joe Lancarte (of Joe T's fame), all of the major chain restaurants use wine-based mixes for their 'ritas. Not a drop of tequila in them.
