New Yorker Chasing Sugar Land's Hall

Postby MrMustang1965 » Mon Nov 17, 2003 7:19 pm

Interesting note in Texas high school football lore: It looks like Texan Ken Hall's rushing yardage is safe, but a high school player in New York is giving it a good run. Mike Hart, a senior who is headed to Michigan, gained 214 yards on 12 carries (!) Saturday in Onondaga's 56-16 win over Deposit at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. Onondaga has at least one and potentially two more games. Hart has 10,381 yards and would need 852 to break Hall's mark of 11,232, set in Sugar Land, TX in the 1950s. Nicknamed the "Sugar Land Express", Hall later played for Texas A&M. He now lives in Fredericksburg and operates Hall's Barbeque...some of the best brisket and ribs this side of the Pedernales River! :thumbupcool:
