If every single undergraduate came to an SMU game, they'd only fill one-fifth of the seats...lets not double-deck it...it's a fairly tall order as is...

Our Stadium is the perfect size. Our school if VERY small. Let's just deal with the Stadium that we have and be happy. Some of the school with those huge stadiums have 10 times the students that we have.

If they could build the Cotton Bowl because of Doak Walker, they can double deck it when we get the next Eric Dickerson to come!

Ever heard of a place called Wrigley Field? Fenway?
Keep Ford cozy. Make it a high-demand ticket.
Amon Carter's upper deck may make it look more "big time" but it's also an albatross most games. Ford may be smaller in comparison, but it's no high school stadium.
Filling in the horshoe is fine, but I'm not sure we really want an upper deck. There may come a day when we need to sell more tickets to generate more revenue. But even if we're a consistent Top 25 team, those games that could draw more than 40,000 will be few. For a really big opponent, say a Notre Dame or UT, we could always move the game to Arlington.
Keep our stadium old school and intimate. If we truly become successful, having the Fenway Park of college stadiums could be a recruiting draw in itself.

I don't think they had the Cowpokes to compete with then.

I would like to see a couple of years of Ford sell-outs before fillling in the horsehsoe. I, for one, really like open ended stadia, and the view of downtown Dallas is very attractive. Remember at Notre Dame when they expanded you could no longer see Touchdown Jesus from the field.
Let's just get Dallas behind the team annd selling 25-30,000 should not be a problem.
We need to fix the fact that when we play big teams it is like a home game for them!

Nah, the one on Fig south of the Galen Center inside the Raddison or whatever it is. Kinda ghetto, but attracts a pretty big crowd before b-ball games.
GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!

When we sell out Ford every game for two years, and scalpers are working outside of Ford, then we can consider other options.

Ford will be perfect when we complete the bowl to make the stadium 45K. I LOVE the intimate feel of Ford and I don't think we benefit by having a double deck stadium. 45K is just right.
Back off Warchild seriously.

NOOO don't fill in the open area...I love the look of Ford and am favor or double decking the place before filling in the circle.
Though they could sell tickets to sit on the grass...now that would be cool
