At my father-in-law's urging, FWMustang sent GT a letter asking about baseball when he first was hired at SMU. He included a photo of the Ole Miss baseball facility built under Turner's watch there. (FWMustang had considered attending Ole Miss to play baseball, but ended up elsewhere before transferring to SMU.) Turner responded with a very nice note and no promises. As much as you could expect, really. We still have hope. Ole Miss has a great baseball stadium.

Why do we continually keep proposing the return of a sport in which we never excelled in the past, second, can be costly. especially from a Title 9 standpoint while not considering the return of a sport that is much less expensive and we have a relatively recent history of National Championships? Track and Field would not only be easier, cheaper, and easier to comply with Title, but it could be used as an enhancement to recruiting for football.

I definitely would like to see Track & Field return first, but baseball would be cool.

How about to further the legend of SMU's Boulevarding activities?
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

If every single undergraduate came to an SMU game, they'd only fill one-fifth of the seats...lets not double-deck it...it's a fairly tall order as is...
If they could build the Cotton Bowl because of Doak Walker, they can double deck it when we get the next Eric Dickerson to come!
Doak and crew were there when the NFL wasn't in Dallas. That's how they got the Cotton Bowl filled for SMU.

College football is played on Saturdays - mostly; professional football on Sundays - mostly. But I see your point.

I was wearing my SMU hat at IHOP, MM1784, and the waitress asked if I wanted extra bacon...!!! Really neat-o.

Well...did you?
On another + note, picked up this week's issue of The Sports Page at Gazebo's. The Sports Page is chock full of stories about today's Cowboys v Giants game but on p. 3, as you turn the cover page, is a HUGE story on JJ and the Mustangs. Headline reads: "SMU AD Orsini Lands His Man in Jones" with a nice photo of JJ in front of the mural of Doak Walker in Heritage Hall. More great publicity!
