Practice will get underway next week with the first game coming against 2007 Conference Champion Texas A&M. The Mustangs will look to avenge a 10-13 loss in 2006 in college station. The game will be Friday February 1st, 7:30 pm.

Thanks for the update and post. I love LAX. My son played st SMU from 01-05, when the team began this long run of strong performances.
It is be the best spectator sports there is, BTW. Great action!

Are you a Lev or a Neumann? Either way, both were great leaders and helped turn the program from how they inherited it in '01 into what it is now in '08...conferences champs in 2008!!!

Heard you turned out 70+ for the Fall season. Unbelieveable!

The team made cuts for the first time. True testament as to how much the program is growing.

I spent a few years sharing the field with Lacrosse as a rugger @ SMU. I always hoped that LAX and Rugby would continue to grow at SMU...glad to hear that LAX has made it

Yes, despite the rise and popularity of lacrosse across the country. Title IX makes it unlikely any new men's sports will ever be added.
Most college Lacrosse teams are Club Sports.

I had a buddy that played for Whittenburg (I think that's what it's called). Lax is really big in the northeast, from what I hear.

Wasn't SMU starting an LAX team for girls in the next yr or so with men coming on board in 3 to 5 yrs? Scholarships & all that stuff?
