The SMU Calling Center is now hiring students to call alumni. You can earn up to $8.25 per hour, plus the opportunity for incentive based rewards. You can also earn up to $400 each semester in tuition assistance. We offer flexible scheduling (Sunday through Thursday evenings) to allow you to work around your classes and personal schedule.

You're fulfilling someone's quota.

There's been a big push in recent years to boost the percentage of alumni donors from about 13% to 20% or so. Dialing for dollars!

Calls work with my wife. When her alma maters call, she gives at least what she did last year. It's harder to remember when you just have a form in the mail.

I'm about 90% sure the last person who called me about giving money to SMU was not an SMU student. If they were they were totally disinterested in anything about SMU other than showing up to get a degree.
