"A lot of guys now have an interest in SMU because I'm here," Jones said. "By the time it's said and done, we're going to steal some guys who can play."

JJ's confidence is a breath of fresh air compared to what we are used to. I was so beaten down by PB's comments this past season after every game, "one or two plays that needed to go our way didn't" or whatever.

That's exactly the kind of talk that's going to get us some great recruits.

This is what we should have been expecting all along (i.e. Pre-Jones). Its a shame were so mesmerized, but I'm enjoying the mesmerizing.

todays dmn gave an edited version of kate' story. they left out some of the most interesting info. i guess they had to squeeze it down into the briefs section, to make room for the third applewhite article, in as many daze.

As for recruiting, Jones said a few players will visit campus this weekend, but most will come in the following weekend.

Jones said SMU is looking hard at local players who had previously orally committed to other schools. Some Hawaii recruits might also follow Jones.
