Invited a few people to the game, they were going to come hoping June Jones would address the crowd. Luckily, parking was so impossible they gave up. It was probably a bad idea to introduce JJ vs. a team like Houston. Get a bunch of people there, get a large turnout of greeks, and get blown away?

This team needs to stay off TV for the rest of the year.

Why is Harp getting so many minutes?

Malone will be good.

Dia is going to be unstoppable in a few years.

No shame in getting waxed by this Houston team. They are a very good team that is athletic, deep, and experienced. Beat Kentucky handily by 15-16 points earlier this season.

With Roberts and Rhodes out who would you propose gets Harp's minutes in this game? We only have 3 healthy guards for the game and Harp is one of them. He didn't shoot well (4-14) but was 3rd on the team in rebounds, 2nd in assists, and had only 1 of our backcourts 10 turnovers (granted he handles the ball MUCH less). On top of that he busts his butt all over the court. Can't see your complaint with him in this situation unless you feel one of the walk-on guards would have been better.

Agreed that the future is very bright for Dia and Malone will be a player as well.

Harp does have to play with Roberts out; however, if Malone just played some defense - he might be able to get some more of the minutes that Harp got

I'm talking about the season as a whole, I agree he had to play alot this game. I do admire his hustle, he was playing hard all the way to the end. I'm sure Doh see a lot of potential. It just seems that he gets an awful lot of play time when you look at his actual contribution to the game. Of course, this IS a rebuilding year, so maybe that is the thought.

Was that him that hurried a wide open 3 and totally wiffed it? These are the things that can be fixed over time. I just hope we come out way, WAY better at the start of next year.

Doh has said many times that Harp plays a lot because of his defense and hustle. Although he has turned the ball over some and his shot has been off more times than not, he brings a high level of energy to the team. Tonight in the first half Houston had a three man break away. Harp was the only player that went with it and he ended up blocking the layup. Shear hustle. The kid does have talent and will be a very good player along with Dia and Malone.

A bunch of people there??? I am really afraid what would happen if we had more than 3.000 people at a game. The parking was horrendous!!! I found several empty parking spots, but just knew I would be heading to some impound yard to pick up my car afterwards. When does the knew parking lot get completed??

I was wondering the same thing about Harp. He did not have a very good game and while I am not very basketball savy, it sure looks like he stands in one place waiting for the ball and either shoots when he gets it, or moves to his right, fakes a shot and then passes.

I am very excited about Papa...he could be a stud!!!!

Tough loss, but I hope we can win a couple conference games and earn a lot of game playing experience...

Parking: This is when you take a proactive approach and send out emails reminding people where to park and apologize for the mess, and let them know it's going to get resolved. I haven't seen anything like this.

When Harp's shot comes around, he will be a very solid player. His attempts are looking flat - could be fatigue as he's not yet used to the pace of the college game.

Malone can shoot, but his ball handling, passing and defense are atrocious. I was holding my breath every time he put the ball on the floor. Reminds me a little of a young Tayshaun Prince w/o the all-world defense...

On the flip side, Papa is showing the most upside since Bhop in his freshman year. Has potential to be all conference for 3 years.

On the contrary, he HAD to be there. On TV, in SMU colors, SMU fans cheering for him as "one of ours."
Invaluable.

We got our [deleted] kicked which was totally expected.
We will continue to get our [deleted] kicked which should be totally expected.

When you have a mix of poor talent, poor recruiting & poor scheduling it leads to this type of game against a much more athletic experienced team.

Playing teams like U of H is a pretty good measuring stick IMO.
They are probably somewhere in the range of the 35th to 40th best team in the country.
It just points out how far we have to go to get to that level.

Doh said he was going to be more positive so I guess I will give it a try as well.

Whoa papa. I wouldn't say we have poor talent, we just have very very very young talent. Dia, Malone, Harp and Walker are talented players, they are just freshmen making freshmen mistakes. Give them a little maturity and these guys will be players.

However, I sure wish we had a shooter.
Just send 'da money.
