it was cool, but instead of doing a radio interview, wish he would have said a few words to the crowd. guess i should have stayed home to listen to the radio. sure wouldnt have missed a basketball game, since we didnt have one tonight.

True...but it would have been nice if they had stayed for the WHOLE game instead of leaving about halfway thru the 2nd period. If you're gonna show up to "support the team", stay with 'em thru the end, win or lose.
Yea, every last one of those SAE's beside me left.
yeah but you got there late
you know what would really be nice? a game worth watching...you can take all your pride in being a "true fan" and staying for the whole game, but it's stupid to waste time News Flash: Any game you broadcast is not worth watching.
Man, you really got me there. Right in the heart. At least make a counterpoint about what I posted, and not about my username. Really, it's getting old. About as old as having to watch SMU athletics.
Just ribbing you Didn't know others had already hassled you about your name.
I HATE the University of Texas!

Student or otherwise, no one wants to stick around to watch their team take another A-Kickin.

yea, i stayed and it wasnt fun getting crap from all of cooger high's finest from the moment i stood up to when i got to the car. i will implement a new policy for my attendance:
if we are losing by more points than there are minutes left in the second half, i will leave. (unless it gets to 5 mins to go, then a new set of rules TBA will take affect)

Did you also catch Doug Anderson (one of TV announcers) comments about our recruiting class? He said something to the effect of "usually when a coach leaves, recruits tend to shop around, but SMU's recruits stuck it out and they have a nice class put together."
Huh? Does he know something we don't know? We had 7 recruits when the coaching search started, and 5 at the end of it. Yes, I think we will add some guys, but it's not like we've got concrete evidence yet of who they will be. And I doubt very seriously June let the cat out of the bag with that guy on the recruits he's working on.

It was actually a tv interview with Bill Jones and Doug Anderson. JJ's the genuine article. Great interview.

Policy sounds a bit stupid to me. 8 points down with 7 minutes left and you are leaving the game? Granted if there are 5 minutes left and you are down by 20 I can certainly see taking off and am not one of these hollier than thou fans that is offended by that.

Boohoo on the sh*tty Greek system for coming out for the game and having the nerve to leave mid way through the second half when their team was being dominated. Give me a break 65. Honestly, in college kids have a lot more entertaining things to do than stay the whole game to sing Peruna after a 28 point loss. Give them something to support and they will. We are working on that. So anytime, any reason we get good student support before we have a good product on the field and court, albeit for only a half, I am pleased.

No kidding. A lot of nerve bashing folks for leaving early from a guy who last year came on this board and went into a diatribe about how he was through with SMU sports and through with posting here. Only to come back as a bigger sunshiner than ever. MrMustang246810 makes Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde look normal.

I agree about the roids. Having grown up with MM65 I can honestly tell you that he is alot bigger now than he use to be. Maybe he is Barry Bonds twin.

I believe we have a team worth supporting. Our team is young and needs the support of our student body. I think this is about backing the team and not about whether someone's entertainment needs are being met. The students (and adults) who bailed last night could have stayed just 20 more minutes... surely that's not being unreasonable.
(I know, don't call me Surely)
