Wonder why that happened... traded for Ark? Why on earth would you want to play in Arkansas?

It will be the biggest game in Arkansas in 20 years. Gus "the wonderboy" Malzahn makes his return to show the Nutt lovers what the Nutt haters saw in him. It would only be better if Nutt were still at UA but the anticipation has been talked about for months. It is also a recruiting tool for Tulsa by keeping their name in the NW Arkansas area for some good recruits.

Probably because Arkansas just lost their coach and both of their running backs and its a great opportunity to take an SEC team to the woodshed.

Whats slimy about that? They opted out of the contract per the terms of the contract in order to play another school for more money. Happens all the time.

Wow...I guess Tulsa thinks they will get more money from a Ark game than a TT

They're taking a hog to the shed? Are they trying to fit in?

Ok, stop with the lawyer talk. Sure it happens, but not very often does it happen 8 months before the game. It also sucks for Tech because this can have real consequences. In '04 when Auburn went undefeated and didn't make it to the Championship game, they had a cancellation like this and had to add a IAA team and that did just enough to their strength of schedule to keep them out of the Championship Game. Tech is not going to the Championship game, but this is not an insignificant thing.

That wasn't "lawyer talk" because I'm not a lawyer, just pointing out the facts. There is a reason why buyout clauses are put in those contracts. Turn the situation around and Tech would do the same thing.

I was going to post that comment. Solid B+

I don't have a problem with it. Tulsa is bailing on Tech for a bigger payday. Tech has done the same thing.

I am a lawyer and it sounded like lawyer talk to me. There is no doubt that Tulsa is complying with its contractual obligations and there is also no doubt that Tech would likely do the same thing. But the post is about the sorryness of TG and just because you have complied with your legal duties does not mean it's not sorry.

If Tech was worried about making sure Tulsa honored the deal, they should have made the penalty clause larger. I'm sure North Texas would clear their schedule to play TT.

Would they really play? See the OU game last year...

Why do we care what happens to Tech? Sure it may be a crappy thing for Tulsa to do on such short notice, but I honestly don't care because it's Texas (our coach is a [deleted]) Tech!
