Tulsa University is probably trying to renew an old rivalry with Arkansas. They are only about 100 miles apart and have played each other many times in the past. The game will definitely be better attended and will draw a lot more local interest than Texas Tech.

It will also be great for recruiting. And the fact that Malzahn left Arkansas for Tulsa will be a strong factor. Not a "Slime" move at all.

Its too bad that only 8,000 Arkansas fans will be able to attend any future games in Tulsa with a capacity of 26,000. I predict if Tulsa wants to play anybody decent at home they are going to have to increase capacity of their remodeled stadium. I'm pretty sure with Tulsa going strong that game could attract 50,000 even 55,000 with the proximity to Arkansas. Same goes for OU and OSU games-they are leaving too much off the table with the size of the stadium.

My guess is Arkansas will never travel to Tulsa.

This would be an opportunity for a Arkie State type move. Tulsa could play UA in Little Rock as a Tulsa home game. Proceeds would be tremendous, and the crowd would be 1/2 pro Tulsa due to the Malzahn factor. Tulsa would boost their attendance average. Little Rock would get an additonal Arkansas game that was taken away by Broyles a few years back. It would be a win/win for each side.

I can't see a strong SEC program traveling to a CUSA stadium, especially if it only holds 26,000. I think Razorback Stadium has been increased to about 80,000, that's too much money to walk away from. I don't think they'd even agree to 2-for-1 deals.

I could see Vandy doing it, and maybe Ole Miss or Miss State. Probably not even Kentucky anymore.

Plus, Tulsa probably makes more $$$ traveling to Fayetteville than hosting a home game.

Back in the day, TU used to host Arkansas at home. I saw a lot of those games.

I would defer to you on the logistics of such a move, but it sounds pretty intriguing. I suppose you agree that UA would never travel to Tulsa?
If I'm not mistaken, Baylor had to increase the capacity of their stadium in order to be able to host Big 12 games. I seem to remember that Nebraska said they would not travel there until the stadium was expanded. My memory of that era is foggy though.

Never happened. Baylor hasn't incresed the size of their stadium except for luxury boxes in the last 50 years at least.
