I agree with Car Michael. I am from Atlanta and my buddy has season tickets to the Jackets games, so I saw Faye first hand. I think that if puts on some weight that he could be a stud for SMU. He looked overmatched in the ACC, and I think this is not only a great decision for him for but the Ponies as well.

I look forward to seeing him in conference play next year, and I hope he is at the game tonight

Wrong. He was a redhsirt freshman last season and must now sit out an academic year before being able to play for us. He has 1.5 to play.

The rule states that the moment you set foot on a college campus your 5-year clock starts ticking. From that point you have 5 years to complete 4 seasons of eligibility. The only way to extend the clock is if you get a medical redshirt (or if I am not mistaken BYU players can go on missions, freezing their clock while they are away on their mission). Since Faye enrolled at Georgia Tech in Fall 2005, he has until the Spring of 2010 to complete his eligibility. Had he not sat out the first year, he would still have his redshirt to protect himself from simply giving away a year of eligibility due to transfering.

It's not unusual amongst the foriegn born players. Look at Dia and Kwiatkowski's bios, and check their birth dates.

With the foriegn players, there is also often some speculation that they are actually older than the age on their birth records.

Two things can stop the clock, a religous mission (BYU, Utah, Boise, and others with several Mormon players) and Military service (very uncommon, but has sometimes resulted in players over 25 playing D1 sports)

Sitting out a year after transferring does reduce eligibility.
