SMU to the Big12Lee Now Holding Five Offers
By Steve Robertson Scout.com Posted Jan 22, 2008 B.J. Lee picked up his first college scholarship earlier this month. Since that time four other schools have made their intentions known by offering Lee the chance to play football for their respective programs. B.J. Lee Profile "I just came off of a visit to Tennessee Tech and this weekend I am flying up to SMU," said Lee. "I was supposed to go to JSU, but I didn't go. I am thinking about going to Delta State that last weekend, but I am not sure." All four schools talking visits with B.J. have offered as well as Nicholls State. One of Lee's favorite schools was the most recent to throw their hat into the ring. "SMU offered earlier this week, like yesterday," said Lee. "It feels pretty good. I just want to go up there and check things out. I still want to weigh my options, but I feel good about it." With the Mustangs coming through with an offer, one might expect B.J. to jump at the chance to play in the Big 12. There are still some matters the slashing runner wants to consider. "I am not sure yet," said Lee. "I don't think you can just plan on making a decision. I think you just get a feel for a certain place. I am not sure if it will be today or tomorrow, but I know it will be before signing day." Many schools felt Lee was simply too small to play college football. The Ridgeland All-Star ignored his critics and worked hard to prove him wrong. His belief in his dream never wavered. "I never really doubted myself," said B.J. "Things came through slow. I know a lot of it is just because of my size, but it is what it is. I feel like I am just as much of a player as anyone else
If they were talking about Southern Miss, they would have said USM and not SMU..
Dude, if JJ is golden like we think he is, we better get anybody we can in here. Let's let JJ coach 'em to excellence. We need bodies, we can't be picky. Have you not realized....we are way behind in recruiting.
I don't think we're doing that bad, newbie. Sir, shooting-star, sir.
Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
Numerous people Numerous times have used SMU for Southern Miss.
Whoever wrote the article is obviously an idiot.
The kid is from Ridgeland Mississippi and his Scout.com page says he has an offer from Southern Miss and SMU. SMU (while pretty much due west) would be the school that would be "up there" however because Ridgeland is quite a bit north of Hattiesburg. And it lists a visit to SMU on 1/25 and no visit to USM. http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p= ... %26fhn%3d1
While "up there" should be used only when referring to some place you plan on going that is north of you, I have come across several people who don't use that phrase in that way. For example, I live here in good old DFW, and so does a friend of my wife's. She has told us before that she was going "up" to Houston this weekend, and I always have a puzzled look at my face when she says that.
