Southern Miss is USM. It used to drive me nuts as a senior in high school with some ignorant people asking what SMU was and then asking if it was Southern Miss, the Golden Buzzards.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Potential is nothing, performance is everything.

Quit using rational thinking! I think that's against board rules.

Sounds like he could be a great kick off and punt returner with that 4.3 speed.

Rivals doesnt list us as a school for him and has his GPA at 2.8. What are our standards on GPA's?

According to Rivals he is academically qualified. He just has to make a qualfiying score on the ACT. Assuming he does, I would hope that is enough.

I am a huge fan of Trindon Holliday (LSU) so if this kid is anything like Trindon, sign him now. Trindon is the kind of guy that can immediately shift momentum on a big play with his speed and moves at RB and kick return when you need it. He's so small, though, that every time he gets the ball I cringe and I worry that his next play will be his last. His elusiveness is what keeps him alive (IMHO).

A little concerned that we are his only D-1A offer, but if the kid is fast and has moves anywhere close to TH, I say take a chance on him.

FYI--story about Trindon Holliday. He was not on anyone's radar and one day he decided to accompany his best friend (can't remember the name, but was a good D-1A prospect from Baton Rouge) to an LSU camp. Long story short--the coaches saw him run and immediately offered him.

Maybe the fact that BJ Lee doesn't have any stars from Rivals is a similar situation. A little concerned, though.

No question about it.
I'm with you - if this guy resembles TH in the speed department .... look out. Can you imagine him returning kicks with Jessie Henderson? Who would you kick away from?

With that speed, he might not be a bad DB either. Darrell Green was only about 5'8", but was a great cover corner.

you can't coach speed . . . or size!
Sports, and all that implies.

Regarding the BigXII comment, I think it refers to the fact that he was passing on his trip to ISU.
