I saw SMU has taken back offers and at the same time extended offers to 3 QBs. What's the deal?

Out with the worthless Bennett recruits, in with JJ recruits.

Not all Bennett commitments are being dismissed, nor should they. Ellison is coming to the Hilltop, and I bet Cole Beasley does, too. Not sure yet about Braden Smith - there's a lot of talk about Wyatt Earp (I mean Bo Levi), but Smith looks like a Timmy Chang starter kit when I saw him play. Smart, accurate, fairly mobile without being a pure sprinter, tough as nails, etc. We'll see.

If Kevin Craft decided to come to SMU, that would give us 3 QB's in this recruiting class, assuming Braden Smith is still coming. That would give us 6 quarterbacks on roster. Is that not a bit overkill? However, I have heard that JJ likes to have many QB's on roster.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.
Potential is nothing, performance is everything.

QBs are traditionally very smart athletes with talent. Many HS QBs adapt to being receivers, DBs, even LBs if they have the size. No problem with stocking up on mobile, smart QBs.

I imagine that if we have 6 QBs on the roster in the spring, that we'll convert one or two to other positions, and lose one or two to D1aa or D2 transfers.

Beasley is recruited as an athlete and was expected to be a receiver by the old regime.

Remember that Rhodes was already potentially moving from QB to WR. Being that we probably need 9 solid WRs in our new offense, it would not shock me if he moves there for good.

Braden Smith is stoked about the June Jones hire. I don't feel like finding the article I read that in, so I'll leave that up to someone else.

I understand why Page did it, and that jab was not directed at him. I was more or less pointing out that only our alma mater would have the kind of luck where we'd lose both of the top 2 QBs on our roster in one year for very different reasons.
