In fact, if I had to guess why Craft hasn't committed the presence of Justin Willis would be at the top of that list
Actually, there's talk among some insider types that JuneJ might sign TWO JUCO QBs in addition to Bo Levi Mitchell. Not sure yet who the other is, but the guy who has been targeted is committed elsewhere and our coaches are going after him hard. If we get him, I'm told, he starts out as by far the highest-rated QB on the team. The idea that Willis was "terrible" is hilarious. In addition to the info Stallion cited (i.e. putting up 50-plus against Memphis, etc.), he had the CAREER touchdown passes record halfway through his sophomore year and has the two best years in school history for TD passes already. I'll take that kind of "terrible" every day. Yes, he had some fumbles, etc., but damn, the man is productive.
Wasn't our TERRIBLE signal-caller also the leading rusher? He sucks. We should probably just cut him.

McCann missed his final exam last semester but he managed to be eligible this year somehow, I don't know how that worked out. but I see him around campus as well. Givens essentially cut off everybody from SMU, even those like Emmanuel and it's been messy and not very nice like that.
Now, I KNOW these are just RUMOURS (lets get that straight, I'm not confirming anything) but once AGAIN, word is DJ Emerson has gone elsewhere and more importantly, I have repeatedly heard Jamell Kennedy is transferring...yet I've seen him everywhere on campus. Anybody else hear this? Bigdaddy maybe?

Strodtman to Texas State.
Emerson is gone.
No other transfers.
Bryan McCann, again, is 100% eligible, in school, and at SMU.

Knew Emerson was out - sorry to hear Strodtman is gone. Never saw him play, of course, but he always just looked the part.
Good luck to both.

Are all these receiver defections academic? You'd think with JJ coming in, these guys would have all the opportunity in the world to put up huge numbers.
Do they expect to be buried on the depth chart - I'd think we'll go 6-7 WR's deep for significant playing time.
How you ya'll see the depth chart shaking out?
1) Sanders
2) Robinson
3) Haynes
4) Burley
5) Zimmerman
6) Kennedy (if here?)
7) Fleming
 Rhodes
9) Beasley

back to the defense...To say that Hudman and Bonilla should not be in next year's starting lineup is absurd. Luckliy for us, those two guys made more plays on the team than anybody. We would have not been in any games if it was not for their saving tackles. You do not take two of the better guys out of a terrible defense and replace them with children or unproven transfers.
Granted, it is terrible that a safety is tied for the team lead in tackles, but he was. Bonilla plays with heart and grit on every down. Obviously, the old regime thought enogh of him to let him walk on and earn his way to a scholarship and then earn his way onto the field and then lead the team in stops! That should tell you enough right there. However, from what i understand, he has been doubted before and that is what really drives him. Ask the strength coach if he is a good kid and who the team believes can get it done. Do you want a senior who has put the time in and knows the defense in-and-out or some unproven kid to try and learn on the job. These guys are what is good about SMU. Let them help the solution to all the problems.
BAD DECISION TO REMOVE THESE TWO FROM OUR LINEUP!

Don't worry, I don't think June Jones will get all of his ideas from what he reads on P-fans. I bet for 2 mill a year, he will come up with a few of his own ideas.

Vincent Chase will be a senior and is 6'5" - maybe more of a blocking TE, but still can make a nice catch when called upon.[/quote]
You would think Chase would be a viable option at Tackle with his size and ability to block. He may need to add a few pounds.

Strodtman to Texas State. Emerson is gone. No other transfers. So Columbus Givens is still around? People on this board are still talking about him going to UTEP? Is that true? It makes no sense. Bryan McCann, again, is 100% eligible, in school, and at SMU.

you can't transfer inter-conference in CUSA can you? You couldn't in any conference I'm aware of-well you can but you have to sit out 2 years usually.

Nothing from me other than the fact that Givens is gone and will enroll at UTEP. He will sit out one year as per regulations and have one year left to play. UTEP was one of the schools that offered Givens out of HS.
