If Odiari signs, as is being speculated, the class if off to a very strong start.

I assume you are refering to David Page? guys gotta feed his family man! a wife and kid don't get a roof over their head and a meal in their stomach off of a stipend check.
It's a damn shame the NCAA rule book doesn't take into account that not all student athletes are single and with no dependants. It's hard enough to try to support a family while a full time student. They need to revise some of the rules concerning holding a job, aid and stipends.

I do not disagree with your statement but if I recall in the case of Paige, he was offered a very lucrative full time job with a major firm and had finished his schooling. It was not worth it for him to continue under the circumstances even if the rules had been more lax.

He did get a little additional since he claimed 2 dependants (maybe not the right terminology), but it still wasn't enough IMHO! the NCAA needs to review alot of things, too many to list on this message board!

He was a big boy and made his own decisions. bumping uglies leads to kids - married or not. kids cost money. if he was just married, nothing prevents the wife of an athlete from working as far as i know.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

. . . and nothing prevents a guys who is graduating in the spring from leaving for a job to support himself and his family instead of coming back for a 5th year beat down when he has no future in the sport and no need to be at the university.

Just quoting myself so people would chill out and realize again that I was not busting on Page, but merely the crazy and sorry state of our football program in recent history. Good GOD, stop being so freakin' sensitive.

Nice. I would have given that at least a B+ except that it was a delayed thought since you had already posted. DP was a good qb, hated to see him go. Moving on, I think we're going to see a lot of great qb play soon.
