DALLAS -- Police said Thursday they were investigating a Southern Methodist University student's claims that her instructor drugged her.
NBC 5 News was not naming the instructor, as he has not been charged with a crime, but NBC 5 News reported that he was being investigated possibly drugging one of his students.
Dallas police said a 22-year-old SMU student said she went to an instructor's house for help on a project. The student told police the instructor kept bringing sexual overtones into their conversation and that he insisted she drink wine.
The woman said she had a glass and a half of wine and was feeling very strange. At that point, she claimed she called a cab against his will and went to a hospital. There, NBC 5 News reported, blood tests revealed opiates -- a drug known for reducing anxiety and pain -- in her system.
Since this incident, the young woman said her instructor called her 13 times in a 24-hour period.
Both Dallas police and SMU police said they were investigating but have not yet made an arrest.

Who on earth would go over to a professor's house? That's just creepy from the get go...

Remember the scene in Animal House where Boone catches the Pysch Professor sands pants at Katie's house? When I was in law school, one of my female classmates had an affair with a law professor. She got an A, he didn't get tenure. We were all pretty much laughing about it. But inviting a student to your house without anyone else there, puts you in a pretty precarious position. If the student isn't interested in what you're selling, we call that professor, the defendant in the upcoming sexual harrassment suit.

[edited]Any chance it was a not-to-be-named Foreign Language Instructor?
Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.

On the contrary, it is some of the things said about him that get posts and threads deleted. The site is supportive of SMU - INCLUDING but not limited to the athletic department. Disagreement with anything from who should be in the starting lineup to the color of the bulbs used in the Celebration of Lights is fair game. Personal attacks - as has been specified countless times - are not.
Thanks.

I pretty sure that instructor "putts from the rough". I don't think that he would be drugging women.

I believe the news bit said the guy was some kind of a volunteer advisor not a professor.
