Bad advice, bad common sense.
Definately makes you wonder if those who should have been doing the advising are giving poor guidance out of apathy or lack of knowledge. Either one is inexcusable when their job is to make sure that they do all they can to promote the well being of these student/athletes
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.
