Ok, if recruiting season was over, how would everyone rate this year's class to the last several Bennett recruiting classes?

It may not count as one of his "last several," but I just looked on Rivals and it's interesting that in 2004, JWill's class, we had ten three-star signees.

Willis was the class of '05 and there is absolutely no chance in h*ll we had 10 3 stars on rivals his year. And I think the '04 class would be the Romo Eckert JUCO class which I don't think had many 3 stars at all. You tipping it back already or maybe reading some off brand rivals??

Not sure what you are seeing Ponyboy but looking at 2005 class (JWill's class) we had 6 3*s and 2004 we had 1 3*.

Also should point out that two of the 3* from 2005 never made it on campus (Clayton Cox and Curtiss Powell). Another, Columbus Givens, has apparently left the school. Leaving only Jwill still on the team (the other two Haywood and Makinde were Juco transfers).

Bennett's first full class is when we had lots of highly rated 3 star guys. That would be Chris Phillips etc. 2003 or 2002 if rivals goes back that far. I guess 2003 since 2002 was Bennett's half class where he took over for Cavan.

I've got to stop drinking at work. It was 2003 when we had the ten three-stars, not 2005.

Your right MustangIcon...we got 10 3* in 2003.

Whats funny is that I think I would take the 2*s in that class over the 3*s.

If you want to get the full Rivals list of our recruiting classes, go to MustangManiacs.com, then at the bottom left click on the link that says "Complete 2008 Commitment List". From there, you can see the 2008 list, and at the top there is a drop down where you can go back all the way to 2002.

Here's a quick recap:
2002 - 24 total, 1 3star (Barnett)
2003 - 23 total, 10 3star (Sturdivant, Muse, Phillips, Meeks, Massey, McGee, Cleveland, Boren, Hall, Jones)
2004 - 19 total, 1 3star (V Chase)
2005 - 26 total, 6 3star (Willis, Givens, Haywood, McKinde, Powell, Cox)
2006 - 16 total, 2 3star (Burley, McCann)
2007 - 23 total, 4 3star (LeRibeus, Haynes, Bell, Bailey)

Interesting that IMO the best player from that '05 class was Emmanuel Sanders - 2 star 4.9 rating.

I know rivals doesn't nail everybody, but I sure hope some of these speedy 2 stars JJ is bringin in have that kind of talent.
