Lessons From Tulsa?

Post by Fooball »

Not sure if there has been much talk on this board about this, but are there any lessons to be learned from Tulsa's quick football turnaround? How did they go from a one-win team last year to 8-4 and bowling this year?

Some patsies on the schedule, a slew of JUCOs (instant maturity) and the maturation of those players already in place. Coach Krag did a nice job up there this year.
And we'll beat them next year.

Not so fast. Remember, we did not win a game this season. It is premature to predict that we will beat a team that is going to a bowl game. I am sure Tulsa will get a few more Juco's next season to compliment their young players. Even Tulsa is able to recruit from a wider pool of talent than SMU. Until the administration changes the way it conducts business, do not expect great things on the field from the football team. I do not mean to sound negative, but sometimes reality is harsh.

In fact the recruiting services have already identified at least 7 JUCOs that Tulsa is in the running for in FB and guess what they don't all play QB.
