Zach Boyd, an offensive lineman at Highland Park High School in Dallas, accepted a scholarship offer from June Jones during his official visit last weekend, HP head coach Randy Allen confirmed on Monday.
Boyd, 6-4 and 258 pounds, played offensive tackle and is a two-year starter in a spread offense at HP, which was 15-1 and lost in the Texas Class 4A Division II state championship game last season.

Like a lot of HP guys, he's supposed to have exceptional technique, and a need for greater bulk.

Another year, another scholarship for a HP kid so we can stay in good graces with the community.

I don't have a problem with it. And HP ripped Marshall a new one a couple of years ago with their "Band of Brothers" group. Ouch.

Go get as many as possible. Can only help.

the traditional last weekend H.P. Bubba Scholarship-given annually to underprivileged Bubble kids who would not otherwise have an opportunity to go to a Division 1A school to play college football. Remember when we used to get HP kids everyone in Texas wanted?

You've got a talent to understand the nuances of recruiting talent. Unfortunately, you continually waste your gift because you aren't grateful for it.

Here's a tip: Go watch a HS football game IN PERSON. In fact, go out and watch a season's worth. When you do that and give a first-hand eyeball evaluation.

When you can do that, let us know.

Worked with this kid while I helped out in the Ronnie V. O-line camp this past summer. I like his build and I really like his tech......this really stood out to me. I think this is a good pick up. I look forward to seeing how he develops.
