Daily Campus: Binkley Apartments to be demolished
Binkley Apartments to be demolished at end of school year
Residents of the on-campus Binkley apartments received letters Thursday, Jan. 31 informing them the apartments will be closed beginning June 1. The letter from Vice President of Business and Finance Chris Casey cited "campus changes to provide space for such enhancements such as additional residence halls, intramural fields and other facilities" as the reason behind the decision.

Probably Bush Library, but the other possibility is residence halls. Long term plan at SMU is to make sophomores live on campus: dorms or greek houses.
I have always imagined the Baird plant site or UA Cine site would be converted into some form of mixed use development with the bookstore, Starbucks et al. on the first floor and dorms/apartments above.

I lived in the Binkley Apartments - what a great location.
I think I paid $200 per month in rent - 1992. ($400 total rent split two ways).
Better than living in the dorms and better than the Frat house - no rules.
I will be proud to be able to say that I used to live where the G. W. Bush Library now sits. I hope they don't put the OBL exhibit on the spot of my former living room . . .
