Someone on the MM site, is claiming that Mckinney is returning to his old position. If he breaks into the open, could you imagine stepping in front of that run away train? June has always liked having a jitterbug back, and a bruiser.
the Hawaii guys keep saying that June likes bigger backs than most Run and Shoots. Maybe fits more as a Blocking back on passing downs. Then you got 6 blockers
I bought this up last year saying he would be great on the goal line at what 6'5" 270 as a frig. type back, but fact is McKinney still runs a 4.5 40 at 270 ! I remember in high school he always ran hard and quick for a big man. As a former Texas Top 100 running back, I always wondered why he never got a chance here before I think it is a great idea for JJ to try him there.

I asked PB last year if he had thought about putting McKinney is as a lead blocker on the goal line and he told me no, that he had a plan and was sticking with it. That worked out well...

2006 Hawaii RBs:
Starter: Nate Ilaoa, 5'9", 248-pounds, drafted by the Eagles
Backup: Reagan Mauia, 6'0", 351-pounds, drafted by the Dolphins
Purdue had a DE (Anthony Spencer) that had 26.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. So, JJ had Ilaoa at RB and Mauia at basically a TE position on Spencer's side of the field. Spencer was taken out of the game and Hawaii had 653 yards of offense against Purdue.

The Spoon (Chuck Witherspoon)
How about Craig "Iron Head" Heyward, who was his RB with the Falcons and gained over 1,000 yards?

With SMU's line it is pretty imperative that someone is back there to pick up missed guys or blitzes.
