..even though we still lost, it was impressive. About midway through the second half, Marshall is bringing the ball upcourt after an SMU basketball. Doh turned to the students behind them, implored them to get up and make noise...next the greeks behind Marshall's basket get into it..next thing you know even those next to me in the blue seats are on their feet.
Whaddya know? The Marshall PG has an unforced turnover, Roberts picks it up and has a breakaway dunk. Same thing happened about three minutes later.
On another note, it would have been nice to see the press beyond the first two minutes of the game. I think Doh started out with the press to make sure the guys weren't going through the motions.
Another reason I'm glad he's our Doh: after an alleged Marshall basket, it appeared as though there had been a shot clock violation. The officials went to watch the replay, and had an earful of Marshall's coach all the while. Not one to give someone such a onesided advantage, Doh marched all the way down the scoring table and stayed right there. Of course it didn't influence the call (they got it right anyway), but it was cool seeing the students behind the scorers table go from dogging the Marshall coach to cheering wildly for Doh.
All these things going on...I think in a couple years we may have something here.

I noticed that as well.
The Tri Delts responded!
He's great but we still need at least 1-2 high impact players (Q style) to make the NCAA's. That is the goal since 1993....
I just looked and Killen is 3rd in 3 pointers and 2nd in assists. It is nice to know he can take a player like Killen (who I thought was marginal at best before) and Ike and make them better which is something we haven't seen in a long time. We are 2nd to last in rebounding and scoring... (that is huge)

Speaking of shot clock violations ... what is wrong with the horn? Can't we get something a little louder? Anyone else noticed this?

It's a wimpy buzzer. I think a 77 fiat has a louder horn

Maybe the announcer can make a buzz sound. He needs to stop groping the mic.
The loud speakers are such a joke it's not even funny. A $1M scoreboard and 1950 speakers. Mickey Mouse.

I could put in a better system. 10k tops... 7500 watts of amp and 10000 watts of klipsch speakers

I'm pretty sure it does. By the way, the new Fiat 500...nice car. Saw it the night after it's release at Piazza della Signoria in Florence...big setup they had to introduce the new car. Hope it comes to the US in 2010 like they are planning.

Seems like sound system is a problem (live in DC and have not been able to get to a game to hear for myself for some time). That being the case, it is alarming that people are responding to the SMUMUSTANGS.COM poll (about next basketball investments) that we first need to replace the bleachers with blue seats. If responses to that poll are at all taken seriously (don't know if they will), we need to get some more people on there and vote for a new sound system.

As I stated before, the sound system at Moody sounds like something coming out of a Mr. Microphone. Enough said.
