LOL, that was the worst loss in the history of Carolina hoops, in conference. His job was done then. Maryland won the National Championship that year. Doh needs to come stronger then that, Maryland barely showed up.

you guys read the papers too much. Goldman sure has some good PR going but not everyone there is printing money i can tell you that.

When Coach Doherty was first hired, there was a story on SI.com or SportingNews or ESPN or something, and one of the comments posted by a reader was by a Maryland fan who acknowledged what a great coach Coach Doherty is. He even cited that Terp in some kind of a blog, as I recall. He can't be too bitter - Maryland was by far the best team in the country that year.
