Time to go shopping? Do you think the head coach actually has to BUY his SMU gear? As the Doogie drop on The Ticket would say, "Come on!!!"

This isn't really June's fault as much as it is the equipment manager and our marketing geniuses. If he hasn't already, the equipment guy needs to put stacks of SMU windbreakers, golf shirts, whatever in Jones' office. Put the stuff in easy reach so he can just grab and go. The marketing people need to bring him stuff and encourage him to wear it.

I suspect this might have something to do with our switch to addidas. Maybe they're running out of Nike stuff, or they want to wait until he can wear addidas logo gear. It may also have to do with the rumored tug-of-war at the top between royal and navy blue. Either way, it's a lame excuse. Get the coach in SMU logo gear.

And Hell YES it does matter what our head coach wears in public appearances. June Jones is a buzz-worthy name in Dallas and it helps to see a physical attachment between his face and SMU. It's basic psychology. Besides, if he doesn't care to wear SMU gear, why should we? Why should stores bother to stock SMU items? I'm sick of seeing TCU stuff in Dallas department stores and nothing with SMU on it.

Its all about building your brand. A recruit should always see our coach with a logo on everytime. Ole Sam Walton had a suit and wal-mart ballcap every time.
