They may be announcing an earlier game than the Texas State game on Sept. 6th.
Once things are finalized we should see a detailed schedule in a few weeks.

The game will be on the road against a team we are scheduled to play in November.................

Well if we play one of our west division teams, I would guess Rice since we normally play them in November. If it's an away game against an east division team, then I guess the choices are UAB or Marshall since we played both at Ford in 2006. Our other east division team should be E. Carolina at home. Someone said we played UCF at Orlando this year but I believe that will be in 2009 unless CUSA switches around our east opponents.

I recall PB saying to the press he wanted that game to be played on "rivalry weekend" in November, and Patterson downplaying the rivalry, saying he was okay with keeping us on the schedule, but was not in favor of that. That was of course before we beat them in '05. I also think it should be played in November.

As I understand it, we play our 5 west division teams, 3 east division teams and 4 non-conference games each year. The 3 east division teams alternate each year. In 2007, we played Memphis, UCF and S. Miss. This year as in 2006 we should play UAB, Marshall and E. Carolina. That is unless CUSA changes the rotation.

Well I went back and looked at our 2005 and 2006 schedules. While we do alternate with the same three east division teams we do it on a home and home basis. So in 2007 and 2008 we are home and home with UCF, S. Miss and Memphis. So if we play a game Labor Day weekend, it will probably be either Rice who we normally play in November or UCF as we have S. Miss. and Memphis at home. Our other west division road games are Tulane, UTEP and Houston.

Sorry, of our West Division foes, Houston is in Dallas along with Tulsa . Rice, Tulane and UTEP are on the road.

HOME-Houston, Tulsa, S. Miss, Memphis, TCU, TX State
AWAY-UCF, Navy, Rice, Tulane, UTEP, Texas Tech

Rivalry Weekend? As in, the weekend when NO ONE as at SMU?
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

I take your point, but nobody is at TCU that weekend either. No advantage for them, and oh yeah, we'd be playing RIVALRY WEEKEND.

If we play a game the weekend before the Texas State game it will not be against UTEP or UCF who already have games that weekend.

Many of the other teams have not released a schedule either way.

It will be against a team that kept us from having a winning season in 2006................

The SMU/TCU is almost always picked up by CSTV because it fulfills both their CUSA and MWC committments. With the June Jones plot line, I think they'll do it again. The question is whether they'll pick up the Navy game as well since they have the Navy contract.

"The Ponies will venture to Annapolis on Oct. 25 to take on Navy. The game will be televised by CSTV. There has not been a time announced for kickoff. What a great time of year to go to Annapolis. Been there 3-4 times before and, if you're going to make on long trip with the Mustangs, this is the one. Great place and great place for a football game!"
