New target for Doherty?Sporting News reported that the Dallas HS center who committed to LSU (J'Mison someone) either was going to re-open recruiting, or try to get a waiver since the coach he signed/committed with just got canned. Would love to see Coach Doherty worm his way into that conversation.
J'mison Morgan. Perhaps, if Doherty hadnt pulled the scholarship offer to his older brother (verbal commit, Ronnie Morgan) when he came in, we might have had a shot. The possibility that little brother will even sniff at coming to one of the worst programs in the country, that also stiffed his brother, are non-existent. Ronnie played at La. Tech last year, and is at a junior college now. They may be a package deal, wherever J'mison goes.
Just out of curiosity, who would you kick off the team to free up a scholarship? Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
Averaged 7 minutes per game in the 13 he played in as a freshman. X, did he leave because of playing time or for some other reason?
Big Bobo as they call him. my guess is he lands at Kentucky or A&M. Don't count out Baylor either with their SOC connection and Drew's aggressiveness. From what I know, he is a pretty immature kid. Not in a bad way, but I don't see him trailblazing a path, more like following the herd. Never count out Bill Self either. I don't give SMU any chance especially with the history X points out.

What I've heard (second hand info) is that he left Tech and went o a jc so that he could follow wherever Bobo went, and not have to sit out a year. This is secondhand info, and I also heard he wasnt that happy at tech, but not sure if the issue was playing time. He'd get less time at LSU (or wherever Bobo goes) than he would have if he had stayed at Tech. Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
That story seems to make good sense to me. I would rather play with my bro, even in a limited role, at a big program than play just as small a role without him on a crap team in the WAAC.
I would think it is very likely he won't see the floor wherever his little brother ends up going. He got into less than half La Tech's games, averaging 7 minutes for a 10-20 team his frosh season.
The question is if a big time school like Kentucky or Kansas would make room for a big brother tag along. Ronnie was a very good high school player but he is a 6'4" down low banger. I don't think Self or Gillespie is going to be too fired up about letting big brother walk on and then having little brother gripe that big brother should get playing time..........Baylor - maybe...............
Valid points. I dont know how things will work out now. It's possible that the coaching change at LSU bolloxed up a potential package deal there, and that's why Bobo is shopping around again. I stress "possibly", because I cant say for certain. We'll just have to wait and see.

Wait, I thought we couldn’t judge how good a player is going to be by the way he plays as a freshman? I have been told multiple times that you can't judge our guys yet because they are freshmen. Yeah, they aren't scoring much and they are turning the ball over a lot, but it is ok because they are freshmen. We’ve got to realize that the watered down talent level of C-USA and playing in front of 1,500 at Moody is way too difficult for freshman to show signs initially. Perhaps that applied to Ronnie in the WAC too.
Good. You're finally starting to understand things.
You're right. I would say there is no difference between a freshman who plays 20+ minutes per game and turns the ball over and doesn't score how you would hope compared to a guy who doesn't touch the floor for a team that is just as bad. ![]()
