Just a suggestion.
If you are considering attending the SMU/NAVY game next Fall in Annapolis. Book your room pretty soon. The nice new Westin Hotel is already sold out that weekend. I tried to book a room at the new Westin online and called them and they said they were already SOLD OUT.
The Mustang Club is supposed to have a trip for this game, but I always go ahead and book a room for these type of special road trips just in case. You can always cancel a day or two before and not be charged.
We booked a room at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront. (Oct 24/25)

It is expensive but a spectacular location.
Plus this is just "insurance" in case the Mustang Club trip doesn't work out for us.

smupony94, you're welcome.
Road trips should be alot more fun in coming years with June Jones in charge. Road trips are always fun, but the "beatings" always soured the trips home. I think June Jones is going to change that! Look forward to seeing you in Annapolis.

Thats a pretty good airfare. I think we may wait on reserving the flights until we hear what the Mustang Club is going to do because the flights are not cancel for free like the hotel. Of course the Mustang Club Navy trip details probably won't be public until July or August.

I saw this post on the Tulane Fan Blog:

"According to a close source, we are currently working with ESPN to be on National TV to open the 2008 football season with SMU on Thursday night. This would be very beneficial because it would allow us to have a game before playing Bama, $ and exposure from Tv, and most important a bye week later in the season..... If this change isn't made we will play 12 straight weeks again without a week off...... You heard it here first! "

There are rumors that the DC alumni chapter might get a bus/tailgate package together for the drive up to Annapolis. Might be easier to fly into DC and take the bus up there and take the bus back after the game ...Something to consider if you're having trouble finding a hotel in Annapolis...

PonyLove that particular hotel is expensive because of location. But I would think hotels in Annapolis are generally a bit more expensive. We really want to take in the Annapolis vibe and walk the streets/shops/pubs. But yes it will be nice if the Mustang Club comes up with a sweet deal including airfare/transportation/tours of the Academy.

True, but in an indoor stadium.
ps: I guess that would also mean June Jones would coach two consecutive games in the Superdome?

The third anniversary of Katrina. Sounds like a media event in the works.

I'm gonna stay with some people in DC and drive up. I'm meeting some brothers from Dallas and some alum and others who are in DC.
Anyway, what's the best way to get tickets and ensure we're with other Mustangs?
