In the Houston Chronicle this morning, there was an article about guys getting ready/working out for the combine and it highlighted a trainer in Houston. He was asked about lesser known players and said that he thinks Peveto has what it takes to start on an NFL offensive line.

I look forward to hearing more about Caleb. Good guy, funny, team player, and still has a chance at the next level.
Good luck Caleb!

That would be fantastic. Peve started early - halfway through his freshman year, if I remember right - and I always liked watching that guy play. Funny dude, too, especially after he grew that porcupine of a mohawk on his head. Go get 'em, Peve!
I really shouldn't drink and type.

are you serious? Peveto?...was probably the most inconsistent player on our line. I'd get tired of watching him NOT move his feet, be too SLOW off the snap and get blown by, duck his head and get pushed down..or to top it off, get a penalty for being cheap and hitting someone down field after the play. No quams against him as a person, but on the field, lets be serious. The biggest inconsistency of SMU in the past has been the O-line, and I've said it a while back, the reason we wouldn't get a third and 1 of 4th and 1 is cause our backs got hit 4 yds deep. Why, our line, none of them, are good enough to play at the next level.
I'm being realistic and not living in daddy's complimented or friends being nice saying that "you've got a shot" world. If you are objective and believe what you see rather than what you read or hear, you'd see the the facts.
So, the guy writing for Houston, is full of it...Yea he might be impressive in the weight room or when you talk to him. But, on the field, i'd give him a failing grade

Just to keep you up to date, Tom Bresnahan and Gene Stallings who coached Ben Poynter in the Texas vs. The Nation All Star Game have told Ben and his agent that Ben can definitely play center in the NFL. Tom Bresnahan coached O-line in the NFL for many years and I think most of you know Gene Stallings. Of course it does not mean that Ben or Caleb will play a down in the NFL. This just gives some perspective as to what people who really do know, are saying about the quality of some of our players. Will keep you posted.
Meanwhile GO MUSTANGS IN 2008!
