I have heard that Dallas is looking at having a baseball stadium for a minor league team. The stadium would be located down in the Farmers Market area. I also have heard that our AD has been attending these meetings. Which would lead me to think that if we do bring baseball back that would be where we would play at.

I do think with CUSA being one of the premier baseball conferences with Rice, Tulane, USM, UH and ECU that there is probably some pressure being applied to Orsini to add baseball by Conference folks. However, we can't and shouldn't water down soccer in which we clearly are a national power and CUSA is rapidly becoming a mecca for college soccer with SMU, Tulsa, Kentucky and South Carolina. Or water down our traditional strength in the Country Club sports to add baseball. If we do add baseball it has to be handled better than it was when we had it before. It was an afterthought and a joke. Underfunded, bad facilities, pretty much an all walk-on team, and a coach who had no clue.

there will be baseball coming to the Hilltop. hopefully football and men's basketball can generate enough revenue to support a new team, cuz tthe new sport will be an expensive one if they want to compete right away.
