I've come to the conclusion that I made a well informed decision to take a sabbatical from SMU Basketball once JUCOs and Division 1A Transfers were not a major part of the solution to what I identified as a rapidly deteriorating talent base in Dement's last year. Remember "Mike Dement can't Coach-we should be contending for at least the NIT." We weren't getting outcoached-the talent was headed down the cliff. I really enjoy these moments of reflection on how really naive and uninformed many of you are.

Why just stop at Basketball? Seems like our football and basketball teams have a lot in common.
But I guess a man can only give up so many vices.

FWIW, I think the talent base has gone downhill since Bliss left. I still go to games though. And my SMU seats are a lot better and cost a lot let than my Mavs seats...and at least this year I'm less frustrated by SMU. Admittedly, that's probably because I can sit through an SMU game with no expectations..for that I thank jtstang.
